Nico Izzi is the newest and youngest member of the Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing team, however, the 17-year-old rider joins the factory-supported team with an already impressive race resume.  After capturing more than 100 major amateur motocross championships, Izzi turned Pro last year with just a handful of rounds remaining in the 2007 AMA Toyota Motocross Lites Championship Series.  Just to get his feet wet with the Pro ranks, Izzi raced the Rockstar Makita Suzuki RM-Z250 in those last few rounds and promptly brought home a fifth-place finish in his second-ever AMA National Motocross at Steel City.  That impressive finish was accompanied by two top-10 results at Millville and Glen Helen, to boot.  Izzi comes to the Rockstar Makita Suzuki squad after winning an unprecedented number of amateur titles aboard Suzuki’s.  He started riding at 3 years old and was racing by the time he was 4.  He claims that his father thought that he would fall down once and be done with it.  His father was mistaken.  By the time Izzi turned 9, he was working with a trainer and winning races and championships.  Since then, he went on to become one of Suzuki’s most decorated amateur racers.  This is Izzi’s first year racing for Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing.
