Josh Grant
Birth Date: June 20, 1986
Birthplace: Lakewood, CA
Residence: Riverside, CA
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 140 lbs
Turned Pro: 2005
By any measure, Torco Racing Fuels Honda’s Josh Grant has had an extraordinary career. Just 21-years-old, he turned pro in 2005 and in 2006 had a spectacular season, finishing third in the Eastern division of the AMA Supercross Lites series and third in the Motocross Lites series on his Honda CRF250R.
Last year, Grant was rocked by highs and lows. Despite early-season injuries--a broken rib and a collapsed lung--he finished seventh overall in the West Supercross Lites division, standing on the podium three times and finishing fourth once. Knowing he was forced to sacrifice his 2007 Supercross season to concentrate on the outdoor MX nationals, Grant showed his stuff, finishing in a solid third place.
Preparing for 2008, his seasoning is evident. “I grew up around older people and was home-schooled, so I just feel like I’m much more mature than a normal 21-year-old. And I think that’s moved over into my racing too.”
With three seasons of national experience under his belt, a year where he was knocking hard on the championship’s door, and a high level of maturity, young veteran Josh Grant has everything in place to score big in 2008.
